Atlantic Pharmaceutical Services Incorporated (APSI) is a small information technology (IT) company owned by the Pharmacy Association of Nova. APSI's mandate is to: "Use, where possible, information technology to maximize pharmacy returns."
Presently APSI provides by subscription, APSI price guides to pharmacies in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island as well as a number of insurers and or claims processors across Canada. APSI also provides a searchable data base for PSEUDO-DINS.
ABOUT THE APSI PRICE GUIDES
The APSI Price Guides are available, by province (NS, NB, NF, PEI), through this site and by mail, and are based on the generally agreed upon level of reimbursements to pharmacies by public or private third party payers in the respective province. Subscribers and payers are not obliged to charge or reimburse at the APSI level, as this is a matter between the pharmacy and the payor.

ABOUT THE PSEUDO-DIN DATABASE
The pseudo-DIN data base called OPINIONS, which stands for the Online Product Identification Number Index of Nova Scotia, was started in June of 2003 and will be under construction for a number of years. OPINIONS provides pharmacists with an easy to use, searchable data base of products and services that have been assigned pseudo-dins which are used by payers to reimburse pharmacies for products and services. Access to the data base is free for those who subscribe to the APSI price guide and by subscription to those who do not.
